Here are some examples of the works I've done in the past few years for my employers. These are simple 1-page synopsis of the sites - no sub-links are saved here, but you can get an idea of the work I've done.
|
Starting in 2000, I joined a hot internet startup, SiteSmith, and was their sole web designer and creator.
This is the site as I found it when I joined the company, not bad, but certainly not anything special - add the fact that the site was missing some very basic functions (like a nice search, and some interactive portions), and it was clear that SiteSmith was in need of my services.
|
After I came onboard, I immediately added the search functionality (it just isn't a real website if you can't search it, imo), and some database back-ends for keeping the site in a more easy to maintain state.
I then created a custon-written HR application to which applicants could upload their resumes online, and the HR folks could log in to see applicants, and change, add or remove current job openings.
I also edited the rough animated gear into a much smoother (and smaller, file-size wise) set of files. I'm rather familiar with photoshop, illustrator, and design, and enjoy them all quite a bit.
|
Then came my first major redesign to the site and to the layout, the interface, and the underlying technologies used. This offered me the chance to really launch the site as I'd like to, so I was able to incorporate many new functionalities, and technologies which every webmaster (should) gets excited for:
Server side scripting
Flash animation and enhancements
Content Delivery Network (utilized both Akamai and SpeedEra)
Dynamic databse integration utilizing PERL, PHP, and cold-fusion
Advanced logging and trending features (highlight that path visitors most often take, to give you power over your site.
Of course, the site was also available in a no-flash version.
